Of the 10 rivers in the world which carry 90% of plastic to the world's oceans, three are in India - Indus, Ganga, and Brahmaputra. The marine pollution along India's 7000 km long coastline is absolutely appalling! Oil pollution, chemical waste from industries, household sewage and plastic waste are some of the biggest culprits for this water pollution.
'Wild Wild Waste' is a Hindi web series by Transcend Films Private Limited that follows the story of an entitled intern who learns shocking information that's causing marine pollution which motivates him to take preventive measures. It is a wake-up call to the privileged and oblivious youth of today to sit up and take notice of the problem of waste management and plastic pollution. It is a nudge meant to awaken and spring to action before it's too late! Environmental degradation, global warming, climate change are all interlinked and caused due to the carelessness of humans.
The web series has 5 episodes with an average duration of 15 minutes each. Although the majority of the dialogues in Wild Wild Waste are in Hindi, there are English subtitles for a wider audience.
